How to keep harmful emissions - generated by mobility - be out of our cities while still ensuring a high degree of individual mobility for everyone? It is inevitable for this new drive technologies for vehicles. Electricity from batteries, gas and hydrogen are certainly the sources of the energy for future-oriented propulsion and mobility concepts.
Experts from industry research invited by Aachen and Stolberg discussed this topic in the industrial museum "Zinkhütter Hof" in Stolberg. During the discussion, the experts presented that, drive technologies based on battery-electric drives as well as fuel cell and advanced combustion engines, which additionally use hydrogen as an energy source. Furthermore, scientists are working on the production of synthetic fuels, so that the independence of fossil fuels can be expanded.
The battery-powered city car is already an excellent solution today to keep harmful substances such as NOx out of our cities. And one thing is certain: Copper will play a decisive role both in the drive concept as well as in terms of autonomous driving as power and signal transmitting metal.
