Seven young junior staffs had their new life cycle began on 1st August 2017: they started their training at KMD Stolberg and laid the foundation for a successful career.
The technical professions continue to play an important role for us: for the apprenticeship as mechanics, four new entrants decided to become mechatronic engineers.
Since this year, the commercial sector has also been trained again after a long time. Two trainees began their apprenticeship as industrial builders.
The young trainees were welcomed by the trainers, the chairmen of the works council, and the youth and trainee deputy representative.
The program started with lots of information about the company, as well as mutual learning on the first day. Besides the lecture on the company's history, a training in occupational safety was also given as the first time. After they received the personal protective equipment, they had a detailed factory tour through the entire factory. In their training period, they will be deployed in many areas of the KMD factory, where they are trained practically and theoretically. Internal education and vocational training complement the comprehensive and intensive training.
The high takeover rate of approximately 100 percent is proof of the fact that the young junior staff have an excellent perspective within the company. In recent years, all trainees have been offered a job offer. This should give them the courage to get involved in the company's training period.
Training has traditionally been a high priority at KMD. Qualified training ensures the specialists and managers for the future. It is thus one of the company's most important investments.
Currently, a total of 20 trainees are being prepared in Stolberg for their professional future in three different training positions.
